Foresight

About

What is Foresight

Foresight is a tool for running "what if" and scenario analysis on your financials.

How does Foresight work

First, you enter your financials into Foresight, including the relationships between line items and historical data. Foresight uses your historical financial data to help you develop forecasting models. Then you can input scenarios and Foresight uses the models to project your financials in the scenario you provided.

How to use Foresight

Foresight is organized into tabs:

Config

The Config tab allows you to flexibly configure your finanicals, including the set of line items you want to include, separating business units, segmenting products, etc.

The Config tab also allows you to calibrate models for specific financial line items, setting the relationships that drive your financials.

Model Calibration

The Model Calibration tab allows you to quickly develop time series models for line items that are sensitive to macroeconomic or other external factors.

Scenario Analysis

The Scenario Analysis tab allows you to input scenarios based on the factors that impact your financials, getting a sense of how your financials will change in the future. You can also override specific line items, or add new ones (initiatives). Foresight then allows you to modularly put these scenario components together and compare results across scenarios quickly.

Initiatives

The Initiatives tab allows you to input a set of initiatives and see how that impacts your financials.

Options

The Options tab allows you to set the financial model you are using and the projection period.
